Avanera Residential Suceava
Located in a central area of Suceava shaped by post-socialist transformations and residual industrial landscapes, the project addresses a fragmented and often incoherent urban condition. In this context, Avanera Residential is conceived as a stabilizing element, defined by a clear geometry and a cohesive architectural language.
The starting point was an unfinished development, abandoned during the 2007–2008 real estate crisis. The intervention rethinks the project both in terms of spatial organization and architectural expression, adapting it to contemporary standards of living while clarifying its urban role.
The ensemble is structured along two orthogonal circulation axes, aligned with future urban development plans that will connect adjacent areas and integrate the site into a larger urban framework. The project consists of three similar residential buildings (S+D+P+15), connected through a two-level underground parking system.
The sloping terrain and varied orientations allow for optimal sunlight and open views for all apartments. Generous terraces and large glazed areas extend the living spaces towards the exterior, offering panoramic views of the city.
Particular attention is given to the quality of shared spaces, both interior and exterior. Access areas and circulation spaces are carefully designed, while the ground level is activated through a series of plazas that serve both residential and commercial functions. The insertion of a large underground parking structure frees the surface for landscaped areas, including green spaces, promenades, playgrounds, and social zones.
Through relatively simple but consistent architectural strategies, the project transforms a stalled development into a coherent residential ensemble, contributing to the gradual structuring of the surrounding urban fabric.
