This coffee table is part of our series of steel threaded rod (s.t.r.) objects.

In this DIY experiment were used some affordable and rather rough construction elements, assembled together with simple screw-nut connections in fully functional design objects.

We explored the aesthetic and static potential of the slightly over-sized geometrical carpentry steel joints combined with the thin and flexible  stripes of the steel threaded rods. Usually the frames are symmetrical wire-frame compositions of parallel or intersecting bars, sustaining or overlapping each other, connected by often complex and imbricated steel joints to form stable structures.
