STR TV STAND

STR TV STAND

Category: Product design
Status: Completed

The s.t.r. (steel threaded rod) series starts from a pragmatic need and evolves into an experimental exploration of the latent potential of ordinary construction elements. Emerging from a hands-on, DIY approach, standard threaded rods and off-the-shelf steel brackets typically concealed within structures, are brought to the forefront and reassembled into a visible, expressive system. The result is a family of objects where structure, assembly, and aesthetics become inseparable.

The stand is the origin piece of the series, the first object in which these elements were brought together as both structure and expression. Initially conceived as a simple support for a screen, it retains the directness and immediacy of that first gesture.

The structure is reduced to its essentials: a set of slender rods and minimal joints configured to achieve balance, stability, and portability. Without relying on mass or enclosure, the object operates through careful proportioning and the controlled distribution of forces.

What begins as a quick, improvised solution evolves into a clear design statement. The assembly remains fully visible and intentionally unresolved in appearance, preserving the experimental nature of the process while achieving functional precision.

As the starting point of the s.t.r. series, the stand captures its core premise: that simple, widely available components when assembled with intent, can generate objects that are both efficient and expressive.
